The Export Finance department delivers financing solutions, risk coverage and advisory services related to import or export contracts whose underlying assets are capital goods, equipment and/or services to companies and financial institutions around the world. Since 2000, SG has been actively developing its relationships with the two Korean ECAs, KEXIM and KEIC and its expertise in the Korean export finance schemes.

Through its branch in Seoul, SG has established strong links with the main Exporters in the Shipbuilding industry as well as in the Engineering sector.

As a result, SG arranged 26 financing since mid-2002 to support exports out of or Project Financing with Korean interest.

SG was the first bank to arrange and export financing under KEXIM guarantee.

SG was also the first bank to set up a significant shipping financing with KEIC support and the first bank to close a financing under KEIC new Overseas Investment Insurance Program.
